9:00 - 9:30 | MEET AND PRE-SAIL HUDDLE
Meet your intructors on our Private Pier 12 which is just South of the entrance to the Marina. The black gates will be unlocked and students can walk to the outermost classroom.
We go over the plan for the day which can include a sail to famous landmark like the George Washington Bridge or the Statue of Liberty. We introduce the skill of the day and describe the fun ways we can learn that skill out on the water.
9:30 - 12:00 | RIG & SAIL
It’s time for the fun! Our sailors split into a group of six or less, grab their life jackets, and head to their boat with an instructor. The sailors will prepare the boat for their morning sail by rigging the sails and then casting off the lines. They then head out into the Hudson River to practice the skill of the day, play a game, or relax and explore. The instructor helps a lot during the first couple of sailing expeditions and then the students will quickly put their new skills to use. The goal is to empower the sailors take the helm an sail the boat as if the instructor isn’t onboard.
12:00 - 1:00 | LUNCH
The sailors are invited to bring their own lunch or run over to the many local restaurants.
1:00 - 3:00 | AFTERNOON SAILING
After lunch, we head down to the docks and set sail. The afternoon can be sailors choice where they can fine tune the skill of the day, choose a special destination or have a leisure sail.
3:00 - 3:30 | DE-RIG, CLEAN-UP, RECAP
This is an important part of the day as sailors where they get an opportunity to button up the boat. De-rigging, properly securing the vessel and preparing the boat for the next day are all part of this. We then head up to Pier 12 for a recap of the day and planning for the next voyage.

We encourage students 9-18 to jump on board and enjoy this program. Each boat will have no more than 6 students per instructor to ensure they have the best experience possible.

LEARN ON OUR PRIVATE PIER 12
Enjoy our education pier located on the South side of the Marina. This Pier is outfitted with a classroom and education tools to accelerate the learning of our students. The curriculum includes sailing and the environment.

PERFORMANCE SAILBOATS
The students get to predominantly sail on our fleet of performance sailboats known as J80s. Designed by Johnson Boats, these are 26 foot rocket ships that are the perfect blend between speed, comfort and safety. The furling jib, wide open cockpit and full keel (to ensure they never capsize) make sailing these boats a breeze.
