Our mission is to make sailing accessible to all by lowering the barriers to entry and welcoming sailors of every experience level—from complete beginners to seasoned mariners. We introduce and foster the sport of sailing within the Hoboken community and beyond, using the Hudson River for recreation, learning, and enjoyment. Through hands-on experience and shared passion, we build a supportive community where sailors grow their skills, connect with their environment, and with each other. Our Fleet

The Hoboken Sailing Club has eight J80 Sailboats. These boats are both sporty and stable - perfect for learning, cruising, or racing! According to J Boats, "You will be sailing in 3 minutes!"

Our Private Pier

Members have access to their own private pier. Located at the end of Pier 12, which is adjacent to our marina, the pier boasts a turfed area, seating, umbrellas, coolers, and grills. Lounge and take in the views before your sail or enjoy a cocktail afterwards!

Our Community

The Hoboken Sailing Club holds at least one social event per month. These themed events include our annual Oyster Night, 4th of July Potluck, Wine Tasting and more!

LEARN TO SAIL

Set sail with confidence in our Learn to Sail class — the perfect starting point for anyone ready to begin their sailing journey. Held over a fun and immersive weekend, this course combines hands-on experience on the water with essential classroom instruction to give you a strong foundation in sailing skills, safety, and seamanship. You’ll also have the opportunity to earn your US Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification, with the certification exam included as part of the course.
