Can I automatically join a team?

As with cruising, skippers and crew members must make a verbal agreement to join a race team. We recommend reaching out to the skippers to try and get on a team.

Do I need experience to join a race team?

It is highly recommended you join with experience. This will make you a more favorable candidate for a race team. If you would like to gain experience, you can either find a skipper who is willing to train you or take one of our racing clinics.

Are there any additional costs associated with racing?

Yes, race fees are an additional $450. This is charged to the skipper. It is the skippers responsibility to decide if and how to divide that cost amongst the team.

What is the race course?

The course is decided the day of the race based on conditions. The course is announced at the skippers meeting before each race. Typically it is a series of two lap races with the starting line in front of our pier.
